1. General Provisions
1.1. This User Agreement ("Agreement") between the NATO School Oberammergau (NSO) and the registered User of the Learning Management System (LMS) governs the use of this NSO eLearning LMS including participation in its bulletin boards, forums, and other services.
1.2. As a requirement for access to and use of this Site, you agree not to use any obscene, indecent or offensive language or to place on the Site any material that is defamatory, abusive, harassing or hateful. Further, you may not place on the Site any material that violates NATO and/or NATO School Oberammergau security policies and regulations, is encrypted, constitutes junk mail or unauthorized advertising, invades anyone's privacy, or encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or that otherwise violates law or regulation.
1.3. You can access this Agreement at any time by clicking on "Policies" at the bottom of the page. Failure to abide by the terms set forth in this notice will result in being denied further access and may also result in referral to appropriate authorities for administrative, disciplinary, or criminal investigation.
2. Information Security Regulations
2.1. By accessing the NSO eLearning platform, all Users agree to abide by the following Security of Information requirement.
2.2. The NSO eLearning platform is cleared to process information up to and including NATO UNCLASSIFIED (NU) without administrative markings. Information marked NU shall be used for official purposes only. Only students approved for NU courses, NSO personnel and external course support staff, are authorized to process information up to NU through this platform.
2.3. All personnel shall ensure that NU information is protected from unauthorized persons. Users shall ensure that when using the NSO eLearning platform, no unauthorized personnel can view or have oversight of NU information. Users are also responsible for the protection of NU information if downloaded to any device or printed out and to protect it in accordance with NATO Security Policy.
2.4. NU information shall not be published in public or be stored in any form of user`s private cloud storage or dropbox and it is recommended that it be deleted from personal devices following conclusion of the course.
2.5. Where applicable Users shall comply with any additional scenario release conditions from ACT and JWC as instructed by NSO Personnel during education and training. They shall especially protect information and material, specified as protected, such as scenario material or geospatial data, from access by unauthorized persons.
2.6. Any non-adherence to these policies may result in User access being revoked and possible investigation.
3. Intellectual Property Regulations
3.1. Users are granted a non-exclusive, revocable right to use the NSO owned documents and learning content posted in the LMS for their own use only. This right of use is not transferable or sub-licensable to third persons.
3.2. The granted right of use includes downloading and printing for individual learning purpose.
3.3. Commercial and non-commercial dissemination, publication, reproduction of the documents and teaching content without approval and without crediting the author are excluded and prohibited.
3.4. Third party rights already existing at that time with regards to otherwise already published, copyrighted works of third parties shall not be affected by this agreement.
3.5. Violations of these regulations are made subject to civil, criminal, disciplinary suspicion and will result in compensation for damages.
4. Disclaimer
4.1. The NSO will not accept liability for material provided to the Site including but not limited to text, photographs and sound.
4.2. The NSO does not necessarily endorse, support, sanction, encourage, verify or agree with the comments, opinions or statements posted on bulletin boards, forums or otherwise contained in the Site. Any information or material placed online, including advice and opinions, are the views and responsibility of those who post the statements, and do not necessarily represent the views of the NSO or its third-party providers.
